I have been trying to teach Sam some signing because usually they can pick that up as a way to communicate before they can actually talk. Now Sam has been babbling but no words that actually have a meaning to him. Today at Walmart I decided to try something. He is usually snacking on Graham-crackers when we are at the store and I know he can say Mom because he does all of the time, (He just doesn't know it means anything.) So I tried to get him to say more before giving him another cracker and HE DID! Well.. it was more like "ma" but whatever the boy said his first word that means something! Forget signing, the boy can talk! I guess the first word goes down in the baby book as Ma.
Sam usually plays for a while after his bath and before bed. Since he is very mobile now he gets into things and finds things he shouldn't be playing with. Tonight I looked up and he had a piece of paper, which I didn't want him digesting, so I said, "Hey, No!" Sam's responce was to start laughing and crawl as fast as he could the other way with the paper! What a stinker! He did it again 5 minuets later with the monitor! I think I may have a trouble maker on my hands. It was pretty funny.
