Sam's first silverware

Here are pictures of Sam's first time using silverware. It went prettywell. We did a lot of hand over hand for the scooping with the spoon. I stabbed some bannanas with his fork and he was able to bring that to his mouth. I didn't realize we were supposed to be working with silverware until I read some where, "by now your child should be proficient with utencils." Whoops!

Don't worry too much about his proficiency with untensils yet. I asked my pediatrician at a year if Alex should be able to use a fork well (he mostly just played with it still) and she said it could take him another 6 months or so to get very proficient with it. Shortly after that he started eating with it well. So don't worry, Sam is definitely not behind!

Hey, this is Shawna Potter...my littlest one just turned a year and I have not even attempted silverware! So, don't worry about it...but, nice job Sammy!

Yeah....some reading material is a little overzealous. Will can do a sippy cup but silverware? They must be crazy...
Sam looks darn cute using it though. :)

Maybe by proficient with utensils...they meant banging out a song on the highchair with the spoon...lol
