Valuable Lesson

Jeff, Sam and I learned a valuable lesson today...DO NOT let Sam ANYWHERE near Koby while he is eating. This seems like common sense and we are usually good about keeping Sam out of the laundry room, where the dogs eat, but today the little stinker snuck past us. Jeff was in the kitchen checking his phone messages and I was in the living room. We heard Koby start barking/growling which is nothing new, he does it as Sumo frequently but then we heard Sam scream. Jeff was right there so he grabbed Sam. Sam was turning red and trying to catch his breath to continue screaming. I ran into the laundry room and put Koby in the garage. Nikole asked Jeff if Sam was hurt. Jeff said, "No, I looked at him, I didn't see anything." Then Nikole said, "Then why is there blood on your shoulder?" Sure enough Koby and gotten Sam. There was a puncture wound on his palm that was bleeding and tooth scrapes on his wrist that were puffy. Stupid Dog.
In Koby's defence, Sam should not have been near him when he was eating and I am 100% sure that Sam was reaching into his bowl because Sam likes to eat dog food. We have decided that if Koby does something like this outside of feeding time he will have to go somewhere else and that Jeff and I need to be more vigilant about keeping Sam out of the laundry room. It's pointless to hold a grudge against a dog who has no idea what he did but it's hard not too, he bit my baby.

Poor Sam! Will just freaked out when my friend's dog jumped up and wanted to play- I can't imagine if he had been bitten. Hope his little hand and wrist heal quickly!!!
